We here at Solid Ground Church want to extend a warm welcome as you head back from the holiday break. In this coming year, we look foward to having each and every one of our family involved in playing a part in many of the exciting things that we are embarking on. We wish to highligh some exciting things that have already been started, and some of the things where you can play an active role in adding value to the wonderfully diverse family that makes up Solid Ground Church.
1. Kidzone
As many of you may have noticed, the different Zones that make up Kidzone (the different age groups and venues where they meet on a weekly basis on the campus) have been undergoing exciting and major changes. T-Zone (T for toddlers aged 2 to 4). We have just finished the major renovations by breaking walls down and getting the space prepared for painting and furnishing. In short, its going to be the place where toddlers can be well cared for, while parents attent the main service on a Sunday morning. Would you like to help out with the decor? Perhaps you would like to help look after the toddlers on a Sunday morning? Leana-Marie Heukelman would love to hear from you. You can email her at
2. Kids Play Park
Brace yourselves, one and all, for the first playpark of this kind to be put up in Middelburg - in fact, the first of its kind to be put up in the greater Middelburg/Witbank region! The play park has arrived (all the way via container ship, from its manufacturer in China). It is a theme park style stationary play park that will be safe to play on, while mom sips a cappuccino in the Cafe Lounge. Construction and assembly will begin within the next few weeks, and we would encourage any father, young guy or guy or mom to participate in making this project a major success! For more information and pictures on the play park, you can click here to be directed to the play park page.
3. Singing Success Programme
Would you like to be able to sing and contribute in the music team with your voice? Has somebody told you that you have a lovely singing voice? Are you shy to participate because you think you need more practice? Well, the time is now to begin to make yourself known to Brandon Roberts, because Solid Ground has procured a singing programme presented an international singing teacher (this teacher has taught vocal lessons to major international artists including Haylee Williams from Paramore), and we will begin training current singers and new singers in house. You can email Brandon at . He will guide you through the process.
4. Is coffee your thing?
Hey coffee lovers! The Cafe Lounge at Solid Ground will soon commence training a whole new team of Baristas. What is a barista? Well, simply put, a barista is a maker and appreciator of fine coffees. This is an ideal time to participate in serving the family of Solid Ground, and enjoy lovely coffee while you are it! Would you like to become involved in this area? Email Matthew Lennox at
